About Longrock

Longrock is a tucked-away village on Cornwall’s Mount’s Bay, perched midway between Penzance and Marazion in the civil parish of Ludgvan. Just under a mile from each town, Longrock takes its name from the tidal Long Rock lying offshore at grid reference SW498308. The village fronts the heart of a three-mile stretch of sand that runs from Penzance to Marazion, where sea and shore meet a seawall that traces the bay. Along that seawall runs the main line railway and the celebrated South West Coast Path, threading together the coastal scenes of the bay. In Longrock, the rhythm of tide and train, rock and path, defines the seafront: a clear sense of place where the named tidal rock sits just offshore and the long beach unrolls in either direction. For anyone exploring west Cornwall, Longrock offers a quietly distinctive coastal setting — compact and intimately tied to the features that give Mount’s Bay its character.
