About Sharptor

Tucked into the uplands of east Cornwall, Sharptor is a small hamlet with a quietly striking identity. West of Henwood and within the civil parish of Linkinhorne, it takes its name from Sharp Tor on Bodmin Moor, a reminder of the rugged granite landscape that frames the area. Neighbouring settlements sit close by: Minions to the south, Kingbeare to the north and Darleyford to the east, giving Sharptor a sense of gentle community amid the moorland. At around 280 metres (920 ft) above sea level, the hamlet occupies a lofty position that lends a feeling of openness and connection to the surrounding countryside. Sharptor’s scale and setting make it an unhurried place to pause and appreciate the elemental character of Cornwall’s eastern moorland, where place names and terrain speak plainly of the land that shaped them.
