About Tredinneck

Perched on the high ground of the watershed between the Atlantic and the English Channel, Bodrifty is the modern name of an Iron Age village, now in ruins, in Cornwall. Set 700 yards west of Mulfra Hill in the Penwith District, it sits three miles northwest of Penzance and 1.5 miles southwest of Porthmeor. Today the settlement is barely more than a farm within the boundary of the village of New Mill, just north of Boskednan. Its elevated position between two seas speaks quietly of landscape and history: a ruined settlement reduced to an understated presence in the modern countryside. Close enough to Penzance for a short detour yet tucked into the fields of Penwith, Bodrifty offers a gentle, evocative reminder of Cornwall’s deep past. Where ancient foundations once marked village life, now pastoral rhythm and village boundaries hold sway, leaving a place that feels both shaped by time and softly, resolutely Cornish.

One of Britain's best-preserved Iron Age villages, Chysauster has stood on its windswept hillside above the Penwith moorland for two thousand years. The courtyard houses — each with a central open court surrounded by roofed rooms — give a vivid sense of how Romano-British families lived before the Roman conquest. The setting, with views to both coasts, is magnificent.
