About Treen

Treen (TR19) is a small village in the parish of St Levan, tucked into the far west of Cornwall in the South West. About three miles (4.8 km) inland from Land’s End, it sits at the end of a short unclassified spur road from the B3315 and looks down over the wooded Penberth Valley. Roughly a kilometre inland from the dramatic headland of Treryn Dinas — an Iron Age promontory fort or cliff castle with five lines of fortification — Treen is framed by coastal features. On the headland stands the famous Logan Rock and to the west lies Pedn Vounder, a tidal beach known for its naturist visitors. Treen Cliff rises either side of Treryn Dinas, lending the area a raw, rugged charm. The village itself is small but welcoming, centred around a popular pub, The Logan Rock Inn. With ancient fortifications, sweeping coastal views and a friendly local watering hole, Treen offers a compact taste of Cornwall’s far west.

Carved from the clifftop above Porthcurno beach by Rowena Cade in the 1930s, the Minack is one of the world's most extraordinary performance venues. The granite seating terraces tumble down to a stage set against the open Atlantic — a backdrop no set designer could improve upon. Productions run through the summer season; the exhibition centre tells the remarkable story of its creation.

Treryn Dinas

historic

An impressive Iron Age cliff castle on the headland above Logan Rock, Treryn Dinas occupies one of the most dramatic defensive positions in Cornwall. The promontory fort's multiple ramparts are still clearly visible, and the clifftop walk around the headland rewards with vertiginous views over the Atlantic towards the Lizard.
