About Tregonna
Little Petherick is a village and former civil parish tucked into the valley of Little Petherick Creek in north Cornwall. Now part of the parish of St Issey, it sits two miles south of Padstow and six miles west of Wadebridge. The creek here is a tidal tributary of the River Camel, though upstream of the village the tide no longer reaches. The A389 Wadebridge–Padstow road runs through Little Petherick, crossing the creek at the east end on a Grade II listed 19th-century bridge — a small slice of history right where road and river meet. In 1931 the parish recorded a population of 178, a reminder of the village’s modest scale and enduring character. Quiet lanes, the winding creek and that historic bridge give Little Petherick a gentle, timeless feel, one that rewards a slow visit and an eye for Cornish landscape and heritage.
