About Lanhydrock House

The grandest Victorian country house in Cornwall, Lanhydrock was largely rebuilt after a catastrophic fire in 1881, though its seventeenth-century gatehouse and north wing survived. The 49 rooms on show give an extraordinarily complete picture of life in a Victorian country house — from the magnificent long gallery with its plasterwork ceiling to the vast kitchens below stairs.
