About Horrabridge
Horrabridge is a village and civil parish in the West Devon district of Devon, England, set within the bounds of Dartmoor National Park. Located approximately 12 miles (19 km) north of the city of Plymouth and 4 miles (6.4 km) south of Tavistock, the village offers a peaceful base close to both town and moor. Its population has seen subtle shifts over recent decades: 2,204 people were recorded in 1991, falling to 2,115 by 2006. The 2011 census recorded 3,115 residents, and in 2021 the parish population was 2,198. Horrabridge is also a major part of the Walkham electoral ward, underlining its place in local civic life. Quiet and characterful, Horrabridge’s position within Dartmoor National Park gives it an agreeable mix of village community and access to wild landscapes. Whether passing through en route to the moors or stopping to take in the local atmosphere, the village speaks to visitors seeking the gentler side of Devon’s western reaches.
